What We Do

FinancialAdviserCheck is an independent search tool that provides a fast, user-friendly interface to the ASIC Financial Advisers Register — the official public record of all financial advisers authorised to provide personal financial advice in Australia.

Our database is updated weekly from the official data export published by ASIC at data.gov.au. We index over 40,000 adviser records and make them searchable by name, adviser number, licensee, state, and suburb.

Why We Built This

Every Australian deserves to know whether the person managing their retirement savings, superannuation, or investments is properly registered. Unregistered financial advisers have cost Australians millions of dollars in losses — losses that often cannot be recovered because the adviser operated outside the regulatory framework.

The official ASIC register exists but is not optimised for quick consumer lookups. We built FinancialAdviserCheck to make that 30-second verification accessible to everyone — no account required, no fees, no friction.

Data Sources & Accuracy

All data is sourced from the ASIC Financial Advisers Register, published under a Creative Commons licence at data.gov.au. We do not modify or interpret the data — we display it as published.
